Movie Review

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie!  Did anyone do anything fun over the weekend?  We got about 3 inches of snow, so that was pretty great right there!  We also watched a big PGA golf tournament that ended up in a playoff between two guys from Kansas!  How cool is that?  Played with toys, had several rounds of Crazed River Otter Games, played in the snow.  And ... we watched a movie.  I was very interested in it and thought I'd give you my review.

We watched Kong: Skull Island.  There were some crazy-big animals, some cool chase scenes, and some big explosions ...

"BOOM!"

... and that was all good.  Pretty cool special effects, too.

What didn't make sense to me in the slightest (other than the ridiculous portrayal of what people in the US Army are like) was that there was not one single KONG in the movie!

"What?!?"
"Yeah, I know, mister -- right?!?"

Clearly that guy was surprised, too. I mean, if it's called Kong: Skull Island, I expect there to be a KONG or two!

Harumph! "Kong", indeed.

Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

  1. We watched that with Mom when she brought it home from the library. We found we had to leave at times because it was too scary. Dog Dad is a big golf fan so we watched most of the golf this weekend with him. Sadly we also had to watch the Patriots lose.

  2. Hmpf. No Kongs? Clearly you were cheated. PS: mom has no purrsonal experience with the military, except for having lived in Fayetteville NC, but she thinks the military is usually horribly portrayed.

  6. We were pretty intrigued by the action on something Dad was watching last night. We heard a big scary noise and both of us sat right up straight to look at that screen. I, Timber, made sure I stayed behind Misty, just in case. . . We never did figure out what it was, but we don't think we saw any Kongs either.

  8. Funnily enough we started to watch this on the weekend, but mum turned it off because she thought it was a bit silly!

  13. That man looks kinda creepy to me. The movie clearly needs a different title. No kong is no fun!

  14. Maggie you need to write to the film company and put in a formal complaint about the missleading title of the film, you sit and watch the whole film and not one kong shows up. Terrible.
