Serene Scenery Sunday

Ha roo, pups and cool cats. Zim here with Serene Scenery Sunday. We saw all kinds of wonderful things this week; I'm here to share some of those sights with you. You did see the pix of the Wolf Moon Ammy posted yesterday, didn't you? We liked that maybe best of all this week!

On one of our walks, we saw a good-sized flock of gooses flying over-head.

DSCN3540 Flying Geese!

They fly back and forth between some of the larger lakes that are here, stopping at farm fields for snacks and stuff. We love to see them and to hear them honking at each other!

That blue sky made Mom feel real serene, too. We've had lots of murky skies lately, but we love it when the sun tries to break through. Here's a look at the sun making a good attempt on the north-west edge of our town:

DSCN3554

We were on our way to the Hudson Trail the day Mom took that picture. We didn't find anything that interesting on that go-round, but here are a few shots from our "snow" (ha!) day.

Here I am, approaching the start of the trail:

DSCN3596 Zim

It was so exciting! It's like I was the first one there!!! Look at that undisturbed snow! COOL!

Then I discovered I wasn't really the first one; clearly somebunny had beaten me to the snow.

Somebunny's been here already!

And ...

DSCN3609 Bird Tracks
And somebirdie, too!

Oh well. I was the first pup there! (Dave was with me; I have no idea why he isn't in the pix!) Here I am, checking out the trail:

DSCN3608 Zim

Isn't it an inviting scene? A
serene scene! Ha roo! We saw some cool trees; here's a little collage I put together for you:

You're welcome to go to
our FlickR account to see larger versions of all of these photos!

That's about all the cool sights we saw. I wish I could share the smells with you!

It was a GREAT day for snoofing through the leaves and snow dust and everything!

Thanks for joining me for Serene Scenery (and Snoofers) Sunday! Have a peaceful day!

You Call This Snow?

Woo, everypup and everycat. It's me - Dave. The biped meteorologists said we were going to get 1-3 inches of snow night before last. Zim and I had great plans to go for a snowy romp ... I mean well-behaved walk in the snow yesterday. We checked the radar before bedtime and everything - and it looked like we were going to get pounded but good! Yeah, well. Here are a couple shots of us out on our walk in the "snow".

IMG_5361 Dave and Zim
This does NOT look like 1-3 inches to me! Can you believe this, Zim?

IMG_5363 Dave and Zim
Umm, Dave. You know who said we were just going to get a "light dusting", don't you?

Woo. Then it hit me. Previously, at Ao4 HQs...

IMG_5369_2 Ammy
Sniff... sniff...
My snowcast calls for a light dusting, with a chance of flurries throughout the day.

Ammy's never wrong! But I saw the radar myself! How does she know these things?!?! Woo.

Anyway, the girls took Mom for a walk after me and Zimmie did.

IMG_5370 Stormy and Ammy
Good weather call, Ammy! I didn't doubt you for a second!
Thank you, Stormy!

I don't know why anyone would listen to any other meteorologist! What was I thinking?!!? Sorry for doubting you, Ammy! Woo. In fact - there was a cool event last night that Am wants to tell you about, so let me pass the post over to her!

Luv,
Dave

Thank you, Davy! Hi everypuppy and everycat! It's me, Ammy, here with an Ao4 Weather Moment. Well, actually it's more like an Astronomy Moment... but close enough! Did you see the full moon last night? Did you know it was the biggest full moon we'll see this year? Because of the elliptical path of the moon's orbit, it was as close to earth as it gets! It's also called the "Wolf Moon"! You can read more about it here.

Mom and I took a couple photos to share with you. We had cloudy skies for the first one, but it's still pretty:

And here's a shot after our skies cleared:

DSCN3626 29 JAN '10 Wolf Moon
Wolf Moon 2010

The snow sure didn't pan out like we had hoped, but the full moon was sure something to howl about. :) I hope you enjoyed the photos! Ha-rooooooo!

Love,
Ammy

Photo Finish Friday

Ha roo, pups and cool cats! It's me, Zimmie, coming at you for Photo Finish Friday! Before I get started, I want to thank you for your patience over the past few days! The nice man from our cable company came out yesterday right on schedule and fixed our connection right up! There was some sort of problem with a splitter/connector between our cable TV and cable modem. Or something. I'm not sure; I didn't get to help. Stormy got to stay here with Dad and supervise. The rest of us did this:

IMG_5359

I think Mom did really well walking the three of us together. It was especially fun when Dave jumped me and we started wrestling! Mom seemed excited about that part, too, especially since Ammy was herding her and kept going behind her back and looping around while Dave and I played husky games! Then, for some reason, Mom decided to have Am herd us... and although we still had fun, it wasn't as fun.

IMG_5356 Ammy herding Zim and Dave
Ammy herding me and Dave

Mom's thinking we can take more walks like this if Ammy's willing to take on herding us as her job. I'm thinking I've got to find a way to get Am to look the other way from time to time. Ha roo roo roo!

After we got home, I decided to do zoomies with Dave, then do some posing up on the cat-walk. I haven't shared photos of me up there for a while - want to take a look? Here we go!

I usually pose over here on this side, facing the living room:

IMG_5343 Zim

Don't I look pensive? Let's move over to the side facing the front door and see how that goes, shall we?

DSCN3582 Zim

I'm not sure I like this side. Give me a moment, would you?

DSCN3583 Zim

I think I like the other side better...

DSCN3586 Zim

...let me work up the energy to move, OK? This posing takes a lot out of me.

DSCN3591 Zim

Oh, yeah. This feels better. Much more comfy, really. It's more "me".

DSCN3592 Zim
Zzzzz......

Have a great day, everypup and everykit! And don't work too hard!

Zim

Technical Difficulties

Woo, everypup and everycat. It's me, Dave. We're experiencing technical difficulties with our internet and email. Sometimes we have fine, fast service, and other times it's non-existant. We have a guy coming out from the company to hopefully fix it this afternoon. We're trying to get to your blogs, but it's slow and frustrating. Bear with us?

Thanks.

Luv,
Dave

"Not Allowed on the Furniture"

Play bows, pups and cool-cats. It's me, Zim. Did you read what Dave wrote yesterday about how we are not allowed on the furniture except for the biped bed? Yeah, well, I have other ideas about that. Do you remember our Christmas pictures? Then you might remember the sitzbank and how very, very comfy I looked up there. Remember?

Since then, I've decided that baby is mine - all mine! Here's a pic Mom took of me back in the end of December that I've been meaning to share:

IMG_5204 Zim

Ha roo roo roo. "Not allowed on the furniture"! How does Mom come up with these things?

And Stormy is right, as always. It pays to be cute. And if Mom's taking pix, you're not reeeeeeeally in trouble.

Play bows,
Zim

Sharing Space

Woo, everypup and everycat. It's me, Dave. Do any of you have a favorite place to lounge around, do some day-dreaming, catch up on your naps? Other than on top of my mom, one of my favorite places is the big biped bed. It's the only furniture we're allowed on around here, and really I'm pretty much the only Sibe who likes snoozing on it. Well, no, Storm does, too. But she understands what nap time is all about - peaceful, calm, and quiet. So imagine my surprise that somepup else has decided it's a good napping area lately!

DSCN3496 Ammy & Dave
Hi Mom! I'm just going to lay down here and nap with Davy, OK? I really like it up here now and so I'll just curl up next to my big brother and do that napping thing!

DSCN3497 Ammy & Dave
Uh... Mom? Don't you need Ammy's help somewhere?

Ha woo. Just kidding. Actually, once she settles into nap-mode, she's a really good sleep partner.

Have a good Monday.
Luv,
Dave

Serene Scenery SUNday

Ha roo, pups and cool-cats! Zim here with Serene Scenery Sunday. Mom did some outside portrait shots of us yesterday under conditions that truly made her feel serene. Given the weather so many of us have been dealing with, we thought we'd share, in the hopes that we'll spread some serenity your way.

Ammy and I went out first. I just couldn't believe my eyes at first! Here I am:

DSCN3521 Zim
Ammy! Ammy... what is that?!?!

She raised her little meteorologist snooter to the sky and said those words Mom's been longing to hear!

DSCN3519_2 Ammy
It's ... it's the SUN!

It just felt wonderful! Sure, we're Siberian Huskies and we adapt very well to the cold. But keep in mind I'm the youngest member of the Ao4 and I'm 10. A little sunshine does wonders for the spirit - and for the joints!

Mom took Dave and Stormy out next, to get some shots of them, while I looked for a nice sunbeam to nap in. We'd told them about the sun and they couldn't wait to get out there. Here's Dave:

DSCN3534 Dave
Umm... Stormy? I don't see any sun. Do you see any sun?

And Storms:

DSCN3532 Storm
Nope. That sure didn't last long!

Oops. We do have a bit more today, though, truly making it a serene SUNday!

Zim

Fun in the Studio

Hi everypuppy and everycat! It's me, Ammy! First of all, many thanks for keeping my secret the other day. Mom did find me, but said I was being so cute she just didn't have the heart to torture me with the comb. Those weren't her exact words, but the bottom line is I didn't have to get combed. Whew! :)

As you may know, we all work very hard here at Ao4 Headquarters. We all have jobs and are devoted to carrying out our duties. But we also like to unwind with some fun. I thought I'd share these photos with you from a while back, so you could see another side of us. (Marvin, if you're out there, I'll be sharing my left side. Hee hee hee!)

Zim, Dave and I were on duty downstairs, much like our assignments the other day, only Zim was in the workout room, helping Dad. I was in the outer part of the Studio and Dave had been in the inner part of the Studio. He came out for a break, and we decided to have a little fun. Mom had her iPhone handy and took these pictures.

IMG_4496 Dave and Ammy
Hey, Zimmie! Come on out! It's break time!

He thought maybe we were going to jump him or something. Can you believe that? Us?!?

IMG_4497 Dave and Ammy
Hee hee hee!

IMG_4500_2 Zim, Dave, Ammy
Zim: Hey, you guys! What's going on?
Me (Ammy): Hi, Zimmie! We just thought it was break time and that you should come on out here with us and take a break and then we could take a break together and then maybe Stormy would come downstairs and take a break or maybe we could all go upstairs and take a break together or...

... and then Mom, who was apparently still working (even though it seemed to me like she was playing with her iPhone...) and not taking a break wanted to know what all the chit-chat was about.

IMG_4503 Zim, Dave and Ammy
Dave: Woo, Mom. She's being a Chatty Cathy again!

I was not! Well, maybe I was. But sometimes a girl has a lot to say!

I decided to go play with one of my toys for break time. Dave went over and hugged Mom. And Zim? I think he found some quieter pups by the door to the other part of the Studio.

IMG_4510 Zim and friends
Hey... do you guys want to hang out for a while?

He makes friends everywhere he goes!

I hope you remember to take breaks from your work!

Love,
Ammy

More Fog

Ha roo, pups and cool cats. It's me, Zim. I'm here with Ammy, reporting in on another foggy day in Kansas. Or as Mom keeps saying, "Gloom..."

IMG_5304 Zim

"...gloom..."

IMG_5307 Ammy

"...gloom!"

IMG_5303 Zim and Amber

We don't see what the problem is, but apparently some sunshine is much needed by the bipeds around here. And yeah... come to think of it, a nap in a nice sunbeam sounds pretty good to me!

Play bows,
Zim

Hiding...

Hi everypuppy and everycat, it's me ... umm ... wait a minute ...

DSCN3483 Ammy

Are you alone?

DSCN3484 Ammy

Are you sure?

DSCN3485 Ammy

You don't have a brush or a comb behind your back, do you?

OK ... it's me -

DSCN3486 Ammy

Ammy! I'm not really hiding or avoiding my mom or anything or ...

DSCN3488 Ammy

Are you
sure that isn't a comb behind you? I can trust you not to tell anyone where I am ...

DSCN3489 Ammy

... can't I? Especially ...
hmmmm ... perhaps my mom who's talking that crazy talk about me needing combed and brushed.

DSCN3490 Ammy

Keep it secret, OK? Thanks, friends!

Love,
Ammy

What's on Tap for Today?

Tail wags, dear readers. It's me, Stormy. We have another gloomy weather day here - fog, drizzle, no sun. At least it's not icy, so that's a good thing. We just took Mom and Dad on a walk and got toweled off more than Amber would care for. At our daily meeting, I passed out the normal assignments for later today:

Dave will help Mom downstairs in the Studio.

IMG_5292 Dave

The redheads will switch off being on Library duty and helping Dad in the Study:

No, that's not part of the game "
Clue". Ha roo roo roo!

And me? I'll guard the main floor of Ao4 HQs.

DSCN3479 Storms
Hmm... move to the bed or see what's cooking in the kitchen?

It will be a full day. What's on tap for all of you?

Tail wags,
Storms
